The SYNC Performance Top Step side-zip ski pant, like every product we make, has a frustrated athlete with a story to tell behind them.
Founder note: It was possibly the worst ski day of my life. A cold, windy Carnival at Burke in early February, starting last due to a hike. I was trying to get my pants on over my suit and fumbling for minutes (it seemed like hours) due to the snow having caked the zippers, icing them over rendering them useless, and virtually making it impossible to connect the sides together. Completely freezing in the howling wind, I had to take my gloves off (instant frostbite) to try and warm the zipper up and melt the snow, just to “put my diaper on.” I figured there had to be a better way, which lead to the 3/4 Step-Through construction being born. No more fumbling with zippers. Step, step, zip, zip, and off you go.

EASY ON, EASY OFF
The SYNC Performance Top Step side zip ski pants features our 3/4 Step-Through construction design. By using a robust zipper that zips just short of the waistband, racers don’t have to try to connect the zipper at the top, you just step right into the pant, and zip down. The zipper itself is a nice large gauge so you can do it all with your gloves on, no hassle and no frostbit fingers.
3/4 Step-Through construction has been leaned on heavily by athletes who wear a knee brace because you can easily zip up from the bottom with your boots on and adjust your brace as needed.
Additionally, for those who aren’t necessarily racing, and get hot easy. The unique side-zip construction makes it simple and easy to vent, so you can dump the extra heat on the chairlift after a top to bottom Outer LImits lap on a sunny mid-March day. Heat regulation is an important part of having a great day on the ski hill and these pants give you the ability to adjust throughout the day.
QUICK WARMTH
Skiing’s cold, and once you get cold, it can be mentally consuming and hard to warm back up. Once you’re cold, your performance suffers. If you made the flip or are looking to score, you want to be immediately warming back up for the second run. The top step pant is designed to warm you up quickly so you can immediately start recovery, and think about and your plan for the next run.
